At the City of Holstein, we're committed to delivering clean, high-quality drinking water to every household. Our water comes from deep underground aquifers and is tested regularly to ensure it meets or exceeds all state and federal safety standards.


🧪 2024 Water Testing Results

Our water was tested for a wide range of substances. Here are highlights from the report:

  • No violations of any drinking water standards were found in 2024.
  • All measured contaminant levels were well below the Maximum Contaminant Levels (MCLs) set by the EPA.
  • Key substances tested include:
    • Trihalomethanes (TTHMs) and Haloacetic Acids (HAAs) – byproducts of water disinfection – were found at safe levels.
    • Lead and Copper levels were safely below action thresholds.
    • Nitrate levels remained below the limit of 10 ppm, with a high reading of 6.19 ppm.
    • Other substances tested included chlorine, fluoride, arsenic, selenium, barium, radium, and alpha particles — all within acceptable limits.
